What Does Mark Joyner Have Up His Sleeve Now?

I just got an email from Mark Joyner. He’s got a new product launch planned for July 1st. Here’s what he says:

1. New Simpleology Course Coming Soon …

File this tidbit under “sad but true …”

64.2% of all businesses fail in the first 10 years.
(source US Census Bureau)

The fact is, the real numbers are probably much higher as that
figure doesn’t count all of the unregistered entrepreneurs out
there who get started, get their teeth knocked in, and go back
to their day jobs.

This new course is going to turn all of that around.

For good.

I don’t know about you, but my inbox has been overflowing with a ton of hypey new product launches. Enough that I’ve stopped paying attention to most of them.

But I’ve been reaping the benefits of Mark’s Simpleology system for almost 2-years now. And in that time I’ve watched and learned a bit about Mark’s bigger vision. So when he announces a new product launch, I definitely pay attention!

Stop Worrying About How Until You Get To Yes!

I just got off the phone with a client who is preparing to leave her job. She already has a part-time position lined up and is wondering what to do with the two other weekdays that she’ll have available.

As we explored some options I noticed that every time she came up with an idea that perked up her excitement, she immediately went into figuring out how to make it work. Instantly her enthusiasm vanished as she allowed herself to become overwhelmed by all the reasons why it wouldn’t work.

The excitement and enthusiasm and potential inherent in her ideas and dreams were quashed within seconds of their birth. There was no room to explore the possibilities and play with the dreams and imagine what could be.

She was getting to no before ever getting close to yes!

So I told her to stop worrying about how until she got to yes. We created a space within which she could explore ideas without needed to figure out the how. The how could come later if, in fact, she did take one or more of the ideas to yes.

Most of us tend to jump into the how far too soon. We throw a wet towel over our blossoming ideas and squelch the excitement and enthusiasm that any project will need to succeed.

Do you give yourself space to dream, to imagine, to explore ideas without limits? Do you create time on a regular basis to play and brainstorm and have fun?

Michael Gerber, author of the The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don’t Work and What to Do About It, borrowed an idea from Walt Disney, when he created The Dreaming Room. It’s a place and time where people go to dream their biggest dreams without putting the fetters of what is possible upon them.

What big dreams might you come up with if you let yourself go into the Dreaming Room?

I’d love to hear some of your big dreams. Leave a comment below and let us know!

Turn Time Into Your Loving Taskmaster

I am often amazed at the uncanny timing of Rob Brezny’s horoscopes. I wonder how he could possibly be writing this for ALL the virgos out there when what he writes is so specifically targeted to my exact situation. Take this week for example:

Yesterday, I wrote about how I’ve been guilty of biting off more than I can chew and not having enough time to do everything I want to do. Well, later in the day, I picked up our local weekly paper and looked at my horoscope. Here it is:

Your relationship with time seems to be one of your biggest problems. There’s never enough of it. You’re always fighting against the limitations it imposes. It frustrates you and even hurts you. But let me ask you this: Can you imagine yourself cultivating a more friendly and cunning relationship with time? Are you able to visualize the prospect of you and time becoming more like allies than adversaries? How would it feel to regard time as a loving taskmaster that compels you to realize you can’t do everything and must therefore focus on only your brightest dreams and truest pleasures? This is a perfect moment, astrologically speaking, for you to attempt this magic.

How perfect!

I get tingles when I read: “How would it feel to regard time as a loving taskmaster that compels you to realize that you can’t do everything and must therefore focus on only your brightest dreams and truest pleasures?”

It feels great. Now my job is to “make it so,” as they say on Star Trek.

I’ve come to realize that Simpleology is a great tool for time management. It has helped me shift my relationship with time a great deal. But still, it is just a tool, and it’s only as good as the information I put into it. The “garbage in, garbage out” rule applies here.

If my underlying relationship with time is not functional I’m going to put a lot of garbage into Simpleology. And that’s been the case. Even with all of my Major Focus items filled in, my Morning Brain Dump and Dreamcatcher get filled up with a lot of garbage. My Mental Lock Box is crammed with stuff that has never even made it to my Daily Targets. (If you haven’t tried Simpleology, you’ll understand these terms when you sign up for your free Simpleology account).

Yes, Simpleology is a powerful tool that can help me attain my brightest dreams and truest pleasures. But first I must realize that I can’t do everything and that in order to attain those dreams and pleasures I have to deliberately let go of the goals and tasks that are not fully aligned with them.

When I do that, when I focus fully on my brightest dreams and truest pleasures, and enter only those dreams and pleasures into Simpleology then I’ll go from “garbage in, garbage out” to “gold in, untold riches out!”

Big Eyes Small Stomach or A New Schedule For Law Of Attraction Live Radio Show

You’ve heard of biting off more than you can chew and eyes too big for your stomach, right? For most of my life I’ve been a big fan of biting off far more than I can chew! And as I continue to get older and, hopefully, wiser, I’m realizing that it’s really not about how much you do, it’s about how you do what you do.

Wasn’t it Mother Theresa who said something like, “It’s not about doing great things, but doing small things with great love?”

Well, it’s become very clear to me that if I want to walk my talk and have some time to enjoy other areas of my life – aside from my work which I absolutely DO love – that I need to start being very clear about what I am saying “yes” to.

With all of the amazing technology that is available and constantly evolving, it is far too easy to get caught up in the “I want to do it all,” syndrome. And I’m more interested in contracting the “I want to do all that I do with great love” syndrome!

So, all of that is a long-winded way of saying that I am changing the schedule for the Law of Attraction Live Radio Show.

First, instead of being on Mondays, it will now be on Tuesdays from 11:30 – 12:30 (pacific time). There were just too many holidays on Monday!

And second, the show will be broadcast twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month. That provides a nice continuity with the Law of Attraction Carnival which comes out on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.

I think this will provide you with a nice, varied assortment of Law of Attraction resources throughout the month. And it’s a schedule that I can commit to without making myself crazy. That’s important!

You’ll always be able to access the Law of Attraction Live show archives at Blogtalkradio. And, as always, you can read all of the back issues of the Law of Attraction Carnival on the Law of Attraction Homepage.

I hope to have you join me for the next Law of Attraction Live radio show which will be on Tuesday, June 19th.

Are You Productivity Obsessed?

Over at Pick The Brain, John Wesley has a funny and all-too-accurate post exploring how his search for A Productivity Filled Day may have led him down the path of productivity obssession!

I’ve been there far too often. A recent example is when I needed to merge two Excel columns into a single, text-formatted column. I knew there was an “productive” way to do it. So instead of just jumping in and cutting and pasting I went on a search for the Productive Way to get it done.

Ninety minutes later I had my answer and had completed the task that would have taken about 20-minutes to complete the Non-Productive way!

Now here’s the learning for me, and maybe for you too. If that little Excel trick was something I was going to use on a regular basis and would have saved me time over the next few weeks and months it certainly would have been worth the search and implementation. But because this was, as far as I can tell, a one-time event, my productivity obsession cost me more than one-hour that I will probably not make up.

So the point is to analyze the long-term benefits and time-savings of any productivity tools and techniques BEFORE embarking on a Productivity Obsession Expedition!

Monday Motivation For May 14th – AHHH

Aloha. I’m writing to you from the sunny beaches of Kauai…

Just kidding. I wrote this Saturday, before I left!

My Monday Motivation is quite simple this week. And I really need your help with this. This week, my major target is… “AAAAAHHHHH.” With maybe just a bit of “ZZZZZZZ,” thrown in!

And here’s where you come in. If you catch me responding to comments or posting more than one or two live entries, give me a kick in the butt and remind me to get back to the beach!

You’ll make the call this week. If, between now and Saturday, you think I’ve spent too much time hanging around here when I could have been snorkeling with Sea Turtles, one lucky member of the Evolving Times Mybloglog community will get $100!

Aloha!

Oh, and those of you who have been paying attention to these Monday Motivation posts may have noticed that I did NOT post an entry looking for an intern by last Thursday. That was an intentional decision. Given that I’m lying on the beach in Kauai right this entire week, I realized it would have been a bit silly to post for that position last week. Look for the posting on the 22nd.

Tuesday Motivation For May 1st Balance and Harmony

Tuesday Motivation doesn’t have quite the same ring to it as Monday Motivation. But since the focus of my motivation this week is on balance, taking most of yesterday off was definitely needed!

Let’s talk about balance for a minute. James Ray says that “Balance is Bogus.” He suggests we look for Harmony and recognize that at times certain areas of your life will crescendo and other areas will move into the background.

I agree with James that there are most definitely times for intense focused activity and growth in one area of your life. And I also feel that those intensive times need to be consicously balanced with times of restoration.

Can you imagine a symphony that was all crescendo and climax? Well, just as that would not make for a very enjoyable listening experience, a life filled with just crescendo and climax (ok, get your thoughts out of the gutter) is not very enjoyable either.

We absolutely need those times of calm and rest. And that is what I need to focus on this week: Brining some conscious calmness to my life.

April felt like a major crescendo in the business area of my life. Beginning with the 5-day Train the Trainer seminar from Peak Potentials three weeks ago, moving into the preparations for and the production of the first Law of Attraction Live seminar last Saturday and climaxing with my presentation on the Energetics of Attraction to well over 100 people at Sunday’s New Living Expo in San Francisco, April was a whirlwind of activity and growth in my business.

And I have been very aware of the other areas of my life that have dropped off into the background. So this week is about bringing some balance back and picking up some of the threads of my life that I have dropped in the past few weeks.

And the tricky part is going to be focusing on that balance and rest while maintaining the incredible momentum and excitement that all of this wonderful activity has generated during the past few weeks.

So here are a few of the key targets that I am going to commit to completing by Saturday at noon.

  • Take at least two hikes.
  • Send the final CD master of An Introduction to Brainwave Entrainment Technology for Personal Growth and Success to the duplicators.
  • Schedule a visioning meeting for my business.
  • Clean the kitchen!!!
  • Post two joywork assignments in the Enlightened Entrepreneurs Intensive online forum.

There you go. Nothing earth-shattering. And that’s just the way I want it! The point for me is to continue the momentum I’ve created while bringing the intensity level down.

I’ll let you know how I do.

And by the way, there was not a winner from last week’s Monday Motivation. I got everything done! Sorry.

Monday Motivation For April 23rd – Adding A Carrot To The Stick

This week we have a winner in the Monday Motivation contest! You win when I miss my targets! Last week I hit four out of five of my intentions from my Monday Motivation. I never had time to rehearse in front of a video camera for Saturday’s Law of Attraction Live seminar.

So it was close but no cigar for me. And that means one lucky member of the Evolving Times Community at MyBlogLog gets $100!

And that winner is Shama Hyder. (Shama, I’ll be sending you an email for your address or paypal account so that I can send you your $100!)

Congratulations to Shama. And if you want to be in the running for this week’s $100 – if I don’t make all my intentions – be sure to join the ET community over at Mybloglog!

So this week, will I react to the sting of defeat and play it safe?

Not a chance. I am having far too much fun as I expand the ways that I reach and teach and offer my insights and inspiration to more and more people!

After all, the point of this Monday Motivation – correct me if I’m wrong Wendy Piersall (my inspiration for starting this feature) – is to create some added incentive to empower your dreams!

Up to now, I’ve been using the “stick” alone. And that’s a great way to add some urgency to my intentions. Look, I don’t want to be throwing away $100 each week! So by posting my Monday Motivation list here, I’m held to a higher level of accountability than if I just set my Simpleology targets and go.

But experience has shown me that having a “carrot” to balance out the “stick” amplifies the power of the process. And this morning I realized that I had been leaving the carrot out of the equation in my Monday Motivation.

So beginning this week, when I hit all of the targets on my Monday Motivation list I’m going to take that $100 and split it up between my “financial freedom” jar and my “play” jar. And at the end of the month, The FFA money will go into our FFA account, and our Play money will go towards a great “splurgy” (like that word?) dinner for me and my wife.

Now that feels great!

(By the way, if you don’t know about the FFA and Play jars, definitely check out the book, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, by T. Harv Ecker.

Ok, so what will it be this week? Honest, much of what I need to get done this week is catch up. Being gone for a week at the Peak Potentials Train The Trainer Certification program, and then spending most of last week preparing for the Enlightened Entrepreneurs Intensive full day meeting on Wednesday and the Law of Attraction Live seminar on Saturday has meant that a lot of basic administrative and business maintenance stuff has been left undone. So the targets on this week’s Monday Motivation might not be very glamorous, but they are all important.

So here goes. By Saturday at Noon I will have hit the following targets:

  • Post my very exciting announcement and add a bunch of awesome links to the ET sidebar. (Sorry to be a bit vague about this. Don’t want to ruin the surprise!)
  • Post this week’s edition of the Law of Attraction Carnival by Noon on Tuesday.
  • Get my March statements to my bookkeeper so she can get my numbers up to date. (I told you I was behind on some of the basics).
  • Have a debrief meeting with my logistics team and take stock of what worked at Saturday’s Law of Attraction Live event (most of it worked great!!!) and what kinks we need to work out for the next event.
  • Send out thank you notes to all of the assistants at Saturday’s event. They were awesome!
  • Sign up for an introductory class at the Pilates studio in town.
  • Prepare for my talk at the New Living Expo in SF this Sunday.

There you have it. When I get them all done, $50 goes into my FFA jar and another $50 goes into my “play” jar. And if I don’t get them done, one member of the ET community at Mybloglog gets $100!

And now it’s your turn!

What targets are you going to commit to hitting this week? When you make your targets public you create a much higher level of accountability.

So leave a comment below and let us know what you’re going to create this week!
