I’ll Meet You There

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing
there is a field. I will meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
doesn’t make any sense.
Rumi
How Big Is Your Dream?
A Vision without a task is just a dream.
A task without a vision is just a job.
A vision with a task can change the world.
Today we celebrate the life of a great man, a man whose dream changed the lives of millions of people and, indeed, the course of our entire world.
Martin Luther King’s message of freedom, peace and equality for all people is as pertinent today as it was 45 years ago.
But what I find even more important than his message is his ability to firmly hold onto his dream of equality even in the midst of oppressive segregation, prejudice and violence.
When exploring the Law of Attraction, we often talk about “contrast:” For instance, how do you hold onto a feeling of abundance when, in “reality” you are saddled with debt and wondering how you’re going to pay your rent?
Well, Martin Luther King is a brilliant example for us to emulate. He held onto his dream while living in the contrast. Even as he looked around with his eyes and saw a reality of violence and segregation and hatred and prejudice, deep in his heart, he knew that one day, his dream would become a reality. He knew that we would overcome, someday.
And Martin Luther King Jr. gave that dream to us. He gave us what Neale Donald Walsch calls the Grandest Version of the Greatest Vision he had ever seen.
And while he spoke some of the most eloquent words ever spoke, it was not his words that conveyed the dream: It was the feeling. He knew that this dream could be made real. He felt it. He believed it down to the very core of his being.
If you have not seen his “I have a dream” speech, click the play button below and watch it now. It is one of the most powerful and inspiring speeches ever. It will be well worth the 17-minutes you spend watching it.
But even as you’re listening to the words, go beneath them. See if you can sense the energy, the passion, the conviction with which he holds his dream. Because, remember, everything is energy, and we attract our dreams through a vibrational process.
Listen, especially near the end of his speech, how his voice takes on a vibrato that seems to sing the truth of his dream. He is there, living his dream, even as he stands in a reality that is, seemingly, a long way away from the dream.
So on this day, when we celebrate the life of one of our world’s biggest dreamers, I ask you, “What is your dream?”
What is the Grandest Version of the Greatest Vision you’ve ever had for your life?
Now do not fall into the trap of comparing your dream to Martin Luther King’s. Not all of us are meant to carry such dreams, and the weight of responsibility that comes with them.
But neither is anyone meant to give up their dreams. And that is what far too many people have done. They have given up their dreams because others have told them, throughout their lives, that they can’t have what they want. They have been told to “play it safe.” They have been shot down when they tried to soar. And they have learned that there is no sense in dreaming.
But on this day, when we remember and honor the grand dream of a brilliant dreamer, take some time to remember your big dreams.
On this day, when we pay tribute to Martin Luther King, one of the most skillful Deliberate Creators in recent history, remember that you are the creator of your life. You are dreaming your life into existence right now.
Vincent Van Gogh said,
“I dream of painting then I paint my dream.”
Martin Luther King dreamed of freedom for all people and then he began painting that dream.
What are you going to dream? What does your dream look like? What does it feel like?
Only when you know your dream, can you then begin painting it.
So start dreaming! Dream big. Dream bold.
And then begin living into that dream. Because dreams do come true. But for that to happen, you must take the first step. You must begin painting your dream, living your dream.
Only you can make your dream come true!
So begin today.
And, in case you have not heard, President elect Obama made a call to service on this day. If you want to answer that call, if you want to have a task to go with your vision of a better life and better world, here are two websites with information:

Obama, Hope And A New Beginning
We made history last night. No matter what side of the aisle you sit on, no matter who you voted for, whether you live here in America or watched the results from elsewhere, you know that change is in the air.
Something is different today.
This morning we woke up to hope.
This morning we woke up to a real sense of possibility and potential.
This morning we woke up knowing that real change is possible.
And this morning we know that each of us has the power to create that change.
Our votes and our voices were heard and counted. And our long desire for positive change has now begun to manifest.
Last night we, as a collective voice, voted for hope. We said yes to the positive change that is possible.
But our work, as Deliberate Creators, is just beginning!
In this election we have shown the world and proven to ourselves that we can remain focused on our desires.
In the previous elections our collective attention was fixated on what we did NOT want. In this election we had a true leader who inspired us to stay focused on what we DO want.
Now, our work is to continue to focus on our desires. Continue to focus on the possibilities and the positive change we want to see in our own lives and in the world.
Last night we took a huge step in the direction of positive change. And we must not fritter away the momentum that step has generated.
We now have a leader, a true leader, to inspire us. But he is just one person. He helped to rally us and focus our attention. But each and every one of us played a part in this historic event. And each and every one of us must continue to play a part.
Take a moment to feel the hope. And even if you did not vote for Obama, I encourage you to drop your guard for a moment and feel into that hope. It is there, for all of us. And its here, not because of Obama.
The hope is here because of you, and me, and each and every person who said “yes” to the dream of a more positive future.
Over 45 years ago, Martin Luther King Jr. spoke of a dream. He had the dream “That one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’”
Last night we took a big step towards making that dream come true.
But it is not the color of Obamas skin that is most important or most remarkable. No, as Deliberate Creators, what is most important is the hope he has inspired in this country.
Feel that hope. Breathe it in. What does it feel like to look forward to the future, to have positive expectations of where we can go, what we can achieve, who we can become?
For too long we have been mired in the despair of hopelessness, seeing no light at the end of the tunnel. For too long we have been focused on all that was “wrong.”
Now there is a bright light calling to us.
But remember, no matter what happens, that light is not out there, in the world. No, that light is within you.
You are the light. You are the hope.
Last night you became the change you wished to see in the world!
Continue to be that light. Shine that light on the world. And watch, with amazement as your world, your life, reflects the change you are becoming.
So here is to hope. Here is to joy and light and positive expectation.
And here, most of all, is to the awakening and unfolding of YOUR greatness!
Are You Ready to Step Out of The Fear and Into the Fun?
You know those butterflies you get in your stomach when you go over a hill while you’re driving, or swinging really high at the playground, or zooming down the big hill on a roller coaster? My daughter and I call them “Whoop-dee-doops.” As we’re driving, she’ll say, “Dada, I got a whoop-dee-doop.” And I’ll say “Me too. That was a good one!” “Uh huh!” She replies. Well, I don’t know about you, but this economic roller coaster ride we’re on is giving me lots of whoop-dee-doops! And, while I’ll admit that they don’t all feel great, I’m mostly enjoying the ride and having a really fun time with so many opportunities for growth and expansion. You see, it really is like a roller coaster ride. When you wait in line, give the attendant your ticket and climb into that car, you know you’re not going to climb out right when it gets to the top of that first big uphill. Nope, you’re going to get that thrill and that whoop-dee-doop on the way down. We’re in a similar situation right now in our lives. We’ve waited in line, gotten into the car, made it to the top of that first big hill and now we’re on the way down. Too late to jump out! So we might as well enjoy the ride. I mean, we’re on it anyway! And that’s just what I’m doing! And this Thursday, I’d love to share a few of the Energetic tools that I’m using to stay out of the fear that is swirling all around us and open up to the thrill and excitement of the ride. From 5:30pm – 6:30pm (Pacific Time) this Thursday, I’m offering a free teleclass where you will learn some simple energetic techniques to help you thrive in this environment of fear and chaos. I’ll show you how to enjoy the whoop-dee-doops. In addition to learning why this time in our history is such an amazing opportunity for Deliberate Creators to thrive, you’ll learn 3 very specific energetic techniques to help you take advantage of this opportunity:
- A very simple breathing technique to help you release fear and connect with joy.
- An easy 5-minute energy cleansing tool you can use morning and evening to keep your personal energy space clear.
- A grounding technique you can use anywhere, anytime to calm and soothe any frenetic, fear-based, energy in your space.
If you are looking for some support and guidance on how to effectively navigate these turbulent times, you’ll want to be on this call. Space is limited on this call, so to guarantee your spot, use the link below to register. I look forward to speaking with you on Thursday and enjoying a whoop-dee-doop or two! To your greatness. Ed
Your Mama Don’t Dance and Your Daddy Don’t Rock N’ Roll
I’ll admit I’m a fan of fun old 80’s music. Hey, it’s my era! And leave it to Loggins and Messina to encapsulate the cause of all of the problems of an entire generation!
Think about it, if the parents of my generation had just lightened up a bit, danced more, and listened to some of that long-haired, hippy rock n’ roll music, we’d all be much better off right now. Right?
Not!
All right, I’ll admit that I sometimes toy with the possibility of blaming the state of my life on my parent’s inability to cut loose and enjoy themselves. There’s no question about it: learning that life is to be enjoyed is not all that easy when you’re surrounded by folks who just don’t know how to have any fun let alone dance or rock n’ roll.
However, as a Deliberate Creator, living at the leading edge of thought, I don’t have that luxury. And if you want to firmly place yourself out here on the leading edge of thought, neither do you.
Here’s the thing; It doesn’t matter how “TRUE” it is. Deliberate Creation is not about what is true, what appears to be true, or what has been true in the past.
Deliberate Creation is all about what you choose to be true in the present and the future. What truth do you want to create? That is the only question that really matters.
You can continue to blame your life on your parents’ inability to dance and rock n’ roll. If you do, you’ll continue to live the life story you’re in now. And if that works for you, great. Go for it!
But if you want to change your life story, you have to write it. And that means you have to let go of blame regardless of how “true” it might be.
So if you’re mama didn’t dance and you’re daddy didn’t rock n’ roll stop wasting your time and energy on what they missed out on and get out there and start doing some dancing and rockin’ and rollin’!
Michael Phelps Did It Now It’s Your Turn
Well, he did it. 8 gold medals in 8 races for Michael Phelps. A truly amazing accomplishment.
And the beautiful thing is that all of us benefit from his performance. Every time Michael stood up on that gold medal platform, he reminded us that anything is possible.
But the interesting thing is that a lot of people will talk about Michael’s accomplishment and miss the true value of it. They’ll say how great Michael is and how amazing his performance was.
And then thoughts such as: “Yeah, but he’s special,” or, “I could never do that,” or “Some people are just born talented,” will prevent them from receiving the massive potential benefits of Michael’s work. They’ll miss out on the core message of the Olympic Games and the opportunity to apply it to their own life.
What’s that message?
That anything is truly possible.
s Michael Phelps special? Absolutely.
But guess what… So are you!
If these Olympic Games have awakened you to your greatness they have served their purpose. If the accomplishments of these amazing athletes – and they ALL are amazing athletes! – have inspired you to “go for it,” whatever that “it” might be, then these games have been successful.
Contrary to what NBC might have you believe, the purpose of these games is not to have you sitting around spending more time on your butt in front of the TV!
The purpose is to get you inspired to go out and reach for YOUR dreams!
The worst thing that can come out of these games is this: “Well I’ll never compete at the Olympics so why should I even bother trying?”
How many of you have heard or thought something like that before?
For most of us, the point of our lives is not about competing at the Olympics. Our purpose is not to break Michael‘s record.
The point of your life is to do something that moves you in the direction of a dream. Whatever YOUR dream might be.
If your dream is to swim competitively, go out and join a Masters Swim program. If your dream is to perform in musical theater, go out and audition for a local community theater performance. If your dream is to write a novel, start writing!
Michael Phelps didn’t achieve his dream by just dreaming about it! And he certainly didn’t get to the Olympics by sitting on his butt all day!
He went out and did something.
Now it’s your turn!
What is your dream?
And what are you going to do about it?
Remember the words of Henry David Thoreau:
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined.”
It’s time to put away the tired excuses: “I’m too old.” “I’m too young.” “I don’t have time.” “I don’t know how.” “I can’t!”
Put those lame excuses away. Excuses don’t get you to your dreams!
Look, you may never stand on the gold medal platform at the Olympic Games. But that’s not the point!
You’ve got a personal gold medal platform waiting for you. And only you can decide what the requirements are to stand on that platform!
Rediscover your dream and then go out and move confidently in the direction of that dream.
You’ll know when you’ve gotten that gold medal. You’ll feel it. And while there may not be millions of people watching you get that gold medal placed on around your neck, YOU”LL know that you did it!
And that knowledge will move you even more confidently towards your next dream!
So let’s congratulate Michael Phelps! And let’s thank him, and all the Olympians, for inspiring us to go for OUR gold!
And if you’re interested in jump-starting your journey towards that gold – your gold – the Olympic Games special for the Awakening to Greatness retreat at Lake Tahoe, October 10th – 12th ends with the Olympic closing ceremony on August 24th. The Deliberate Creator’s Declaration of Independence

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary to dissolve the Mental, Emotional, Physical and Energetic bonds which have connected one person to another, and to assume among the powers of the Earth, the separate and equal privileges to which the laws of the Universe entitle them, their own self-respect requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Deliberate Creators are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creative Source with certain unalienable rights and that among these are life, liberty, abundance, joy and the pursuit of happiness.
To secure these rights, certain thoughts, beliefs and ideologies have been instituted among men and women, deriving their just powers from the consent of the people. And whenever any of these thoughts, beliefs or ideologies becomes destructive to these unalienable rights, it is the responsibility of Deliberate Creators to alter or abolish them, and to institute new ones, laying their foundation on such principles and organizing their powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to empower their natural states of abundance, joy and love.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that beliefs long established should not be changed for light and transient causes. But experience has shown that individuals are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the beliefs to which they are accustomed. But when existing thoughts, beliefs and ideologies sabotage, subvert and ultimately destroy the will of Deliberate Creators, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such belief systems, and to create and embrace new beliefs that empower their strength, prosperity and evolution.
Such has been the patient sufferance of these Deliberate Creators; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of thought, belief and ideology. The history of the existing Prevailing Belief System is a history of ongoing injury and usurpation, having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these Deliberate Creators.
To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.
- This belief system would have us base our actions on fear.
- This belief system holds that we lack personal power.
- This belief system affirms that we are unable to manifest our desires.
- This belief system defines the world as a dangerous place.
- This belief system alleges that scarcity and lack is our natural state.
- This belief system asserts that we are meant to struggle and suffer.
- This belief system avows that vulnerability, intimacy and trust are weaknesses.
- This belief system affirms that we are unworthy, undeserving and not good enough.
We, therefore, the representatives of the Deliberate Creators of the World, appealing to the Creative Source for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of all Deliberate Creators, solemnly publish and declare, that we are, and of right ought to be free and independent from the Prevailing Belief System; that we are absolved from all allegiance to those beliefs and that all Mental, Emotional, Physical and Energetic connections between us and the Prevailing Belief System, are and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as free and independent Deliberate Creators, we have full power to attract our desires, seek ever greater joy, engage in inspired action, bask in the limitless abundance of this Universe, and do all other things which true Deliberate Creators may of right do. And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of the Creative Source, we mutually pledge to each other our support, our encouragement and our sacred honor.
If you would like to join us in declaring your independence from the prevailing belief system, add your name to the comments below. Every signature added to this document weakens the prevailing belief system and strengthens the new beliefs that empower our ability to create the lives we desire and the world we want!

Does Love Complete You or Awaken You to Your Own Completeness?
I’m learning to play John Mayer’s song, Fathers, and in the first line he sings:
I know a girl
She puts the color inside of my world.
I love that. But I also question it.
Can a girl really put the color inside of my world?
Can the love of a girl put the color inside my world?
I mean, shouldn’t we put the color into our own world? And really, isn’t the color there already? Maybe it’s just waiting to be seen… or to be shown.
It also got me thinking about the movie Jerry Maguire and that whole “You complete me” theme they had going.
Same questions:
Can someone complete me?
Can love complete me?
Aren’t I already complete? Maybe I just need to remember that completeness?
I’ve got some more thoughts on this, but I’d love to hear what you think. I’ve really enjoyed your comments and insights on my Ring of Fire “coincidence” and want to open some space for you to share your thoughts here as well.
A Stroke Of Inspiring Proportions
Just watched a truly inspiring video from the TED Talks. Jill Bolte Taylor, a neuroanatomist, awoke one morning to discover she was having a stroke. Her insights and enlightenment (truly) will change the way you view your world and yourself.
I HIGHLY recommend watching this 18-minute video!
FYI: If you identified yourself as a Highly Sensitive Person after reading 22 Signs That You’re A Highly Sensitive Person, you’ll particularly resonate with Jill’s description of how it felt when she was coming “back to reality.”

A Broken Rear-Windshield Sale – Healing The Heart Of The World
You’ve heard of a fire sale, right?
Well how about a broken rear windshield sale?
A couple of months ago the rear windshield in my beloved old Saab shattered on an early frosty morning. I know, it’s weird. You would think that a car built for those frigid Swedish winters would be able to stand up to the few sub-freezing mornings we have here in Northern California. But my blue lips when I walked into my Friday morning breakfast meeting after driving into Santa Rosa with a gaping hole in the hatchback proved differently!
You’ll be happy to know that after several weeks of scrambling (and driving around with plastic taped over the big hole in the hatchback) my insurance company was able to locate what was apparently the last new replacement windshield for my car, in Miami of all places!
That’s the good news for me.
The good news for you is that, hiding in the hatchback, were two opened cases of the bestselling and award-winning anthology, Healing the Heart of the World: Harnessing the Power of Intention to Change Your Life and Your Planet.
If you’ve ever seen a shattered windshield you know that the glass breaks up into tiny chunks. This prevents people from getting seriously damaged, but it does make a big mess. These little pieces of glass have the ability to trickle down into the smallest spaces and leave little tiny scratch marks on stuff they touch… including award winning anthologies!
And that, unfortunately was the fate of the books in those two boxes.
Now if you don’t know about Healing the Heart of the World, it is a truly inspiring book with essays from Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Thich Nhat Hanh, Bruce Lipton, Prince Charles, Joan Borysenko and many more leading edge thinkers.
It also includes my essay, The Evolutionary Warrior!
Healing the Heart of the World was an Amazon bestseller (it was in the top 10 for personal growth books and made it to the number 23 spot in all books!)
It also won the prestigious Best Inspirational Book of 2006 from the Independent Publisher’s Association
The regular price of this book is $24.95. But I’ve got 30 or so of them that were in those boxes. And I just don’t feel like I can sell them at full price. Even though most of these books are in perfect condition, a few of them do have scratches and scuff marks from the glass. And instead of trying to sort through them looking for scratch marks, I’d rather be safe and let them all go at a huge discount.
So, I’m selling every book that was in one of those books for half price. Just $12.95.
As I said there are about 30 of them and when they’re gone, they’re gone. (At least until the rear windshield shatters again!)
You can pick up your copy right now at this link:
Plus, as a thank you for ordering one of these books, I’ll also include a downloadable version of my CD, An Introduction to Brainwave Entrainment Technology for Personal Growth & Success. This CD normally costs $14.95. But if you purchase one of these “blemished” books, you can get the entire recording in MP3 format for free!
Now like I said, most of these books are in perfect condition. Just a few of them are scuffed up. And while I can’t guarantee which one you’ll get, I will say that I will be pulling books from the middle of the boxes first. So that means the sooner you order, the more likely it is that you’re going to get a perfect book!
So if you want to increase the chances of getting a perfect quality book for half price, along with a free CD, you’ll want to put your order in now!
Here’s the order link again:
