November Blog Stats Checks: Aligned With Intention

If you’ve been reading Evolving Times for a while you know that since September I have been experimenting with an intention to double the number of unique visitors to this site every month at least until reaching 1 million unique visitors.

Because this is such a specific and measurable intention it has provided me with a powerful tool for gauging my ability to fully align with the intention. And if you’ve been following this experiment you know that, until now, I have been unable to get fully aligned with the intention.

Here’s a brief recap: In August, Evolving Times had just over 1000 unique visitors. In September, the first month of my intention, 1406 unique visitors came to the blog. October growth was basically flat with just over 1553 unique visitors.

In November, 2968 unique visitors came to Evolving Times. Rounding the numbers, to account for tracking anomalies (wink, wink) this marks the first time that I have attained vibrational alignment with my intention.

What did I “do” in November to align with my intention?

I think the biggest factor was my ability to be present. September and October were filled with some pretty major distractions, including the death of my father-in-law and all the associated travel, events and emotional upheavals. During November, even with the Thanksgiving holiday, I was able to stay fully engaged with the blog.

Another contributing factor was an almost total lack of stats-checking during the month. I feel like I really did let go of attachment to the outcome. And that enabled me be freer to embrace the intended outcome easily and joyfully.

On a practical level I participated in more blog carnivals although still not as consistently as I would like.

I also added a live feedburner feed link from my coaching website, www.edwardmills.com which significantly increased traffic from that site.

I focused on improving the clarity of my headlines and the use of popular keywords in them.

And I got better at connecting with other bloggers though I still have a lot of room to grow in that area.

So where do I go from here?

Here are the practical steps I will take to continue the monthly doubling.

Continue to increase my relationship building efforts with other bloggers.

Continue to improve my headlines.

Contribute to blog carnivals on a more consistent basis.

Install and utilize the Ultimate Tag Warrior and Tags in the Head and Related Posts plugins. (Yes, that’s left over from last month).

Install plugins for adding Evolving Times to del.icio.us and technorati and perhaps others.

Here, again are the Law of Attraction steps I plan to take:

Spend time on a daily basis envisioning the visitor number I want to see at the end of December. (6,000!)

When writing posts, envision myself speaking to an audience of at least 6,000. Thanks to Steve Pavlina for that tip.

Let go of attachment to the outcome. Check stats, at most, on a weekly basis, and preferably just once on January 1st.

Remain in a state of positive expectation throughout the month. Know that when I check my stats on January 1st I will see the number 6,000 under the words Unique Visitors! Practice continuous positive expectation.

Finally, another round of gratitude goes out to you, the readers and subscribers of Evolving Times. I could not have aligned with my intention without you! I intend to keep growing and writing and offering the best articles I can.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
